Pathways Update
Pathways Renovations
In January there was a congregational meeting following up on Pathways discussions. The consensus of the meeting was that to make better use of our building and serve our community we needed to make some renovations. In April, the Board received a quote from Maroon Homes for renovations
· to make our washrooms meet accessibility standards, and to be gender neutral or universal access.
· Installation of dish sanitizer and changes to the kitchen
· Making the front entrance accessible
Since the washrooms are the largest project of the three, additional quotes have been received from WestAim Construction and Budget Builders for the washrooms only.
The Board does not meet again until May 13. In the meantime, it would be good to have some feedback from members. Please contact Beth O, if you
· would like to know more about gender neutral washrooms and accessibility
· would like to see the quotes
· have other concerns or questions about the project
We will need someone to search for grants and assist in the applications process
We also need someone who will work with the contractor and be the point of contact with the congregation and the Board.
If there is enough interest, another information meeting for the congregation could be held to discus the project, its scope, and financing. Time is short If we want the project to be completed before September.
