The 2026 Constitution and Bylaws

C & B 2026 are the ELCIC Model Constitution and Bylaws for Congregations (2017) with small modifications.

The Model constitution says to use Bourinot’s Rules of Order. ASLC Council will use Call to Order by Herb Perry and Susan Perry

C & B 2026 are in essence the same as our C & B 2016. The elements are rearranged, with content of many constitution articles moved to bylaws.
Under the C & B 2016, the governing board was designed to operate like a board of directors responsible for strategic planning and committees or individuals responsible for tactical planning and action. Our congregation does not have enough members to operate under this model and it has not been working well for us.

Under the C& B 2026, we will have a council that will be able to be more active in both planning and action. The language of the Model Constitution supports this.

Council chose age 14 as the minimum voting age (Part VI section 1)
Quorum under C& B 2016 is 25 voting members.

Council opted that quorum under C & B 2026 will be twice the number of Council members plus one ( Part Vi section 6)
2017 CONSTITUTION and BYLAWS
ARTICLE Xll Bylaws and Amendments

Section 1. Amendments to this constitution may be proposed by the congregational board or at the request of five voting members. Such proposed amendments shall be:

a. read at two successive public services of the congregation or mailed to the voting members not less than thirty days before the meeting at which it is to be considered;

b. approved with or without change by a majority vote of those present and voting;

c. approved without further change at a second congregational meeting to be held no less than thirty days later by a two-thirds majority vote of those present and voting;

d. effective upon official notice and approval by the Synod Council.

Gardening Anyone?

All Saints has nine 4' X 12' garden plots, one 4' x 4' bed, and a 12' table height bed.
There is no charge to use a garden plot, but we ask that a donation be made to cover watering.

Usually held the third Saturday of the month at the church starting between 0830 and 0900

Come and enjoy some fellowship with your fellow brothers.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider signing up to help with coffee and/or treats for coffee fellowship after church service. Sign up sheets are on the table in the Narthex.
Treats can be pre-prepared or pre-purchased and left in the fridge freezer.
